Print Production Team Lead
Position Summary
The Production Lead is responsible for the coordination and oversight of production activities for customer specific projects. This individual must work collaboratively within the Production team, other departments and our clients to ensure high quality standards and project deadlines are met.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Coordinate tasks, manage schedules, and troubleshoot issues before they escalate.
- Assist Director of Production in oversight of personnel and take lead when needed to ensure required tasks are completed to meet or exceed goals.
- Manage Salesforce platform to meet production timelines and proactively notify management if a project timeline is at risk.
- Cross-train to learn all essential functions of the production department and provide back-up by performing necessary tasks in the absence of individuals in the department.
- Ensure team compliance with production procedures and notify management of any violations to policy or procedure.
- Assess standard operating procedures (SOPs), develop and present recommendations, and implement scalable processes to support ongoing growth.
- Assist in training, coaching and evaluation of personnel.
- Ensure customer custom product issues/questions are supported thoroughly, accurately, efficiently and in a timely manner.
- Assist in managing Production Department Inventory to meet forecasted needs.
- Review all custom material orders, issuing purchase orders to vendors at best cost.
- Develop knowledge on card technology, RFID programming and PVC card production.
- Maintain and develop vendor and manufacture relationships for quality material at best cost.
- Ensure production is performed in a safe and responsible manner, striving for an injury-free, incident-free work environment.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- 4-year college degree in manufacturing, logistics or business preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3 years professional work-related experience
- 2 years supervisory experience
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and proficiency with Excel
- Must be organized and have an eye for detail/quality control
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to build positive working relationships and resolve conflict
- Demonstrated ability to hold self and others accountable for achieving goals
- Self-starter with focus on learning, delivering results and adapting to change
- Salesforce software experience is a plus
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Standard physical activity and basic motor skills to operate desktop card printers, access computer files for information, data entry or document creation.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Some stress may occur with tight deadlines and managing multiple projects.
- May require some weekend work during peak season.
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
